Five keys to living the Victorious Christian life

Five keys to living the Victorious Christian life

Everybody today is looking for answers on how to live the victorious life. However as I often say we look everywhere except the Word of God. Man may have some of the answers most of the time, but God has all the answers all the time. I have used this list in my own personal walk with God and I have seen God do mighty things in just a short period of time.

1) Genuine Heartfelt Repentance

I believe that every believer ought to study and gleam the precious jewels that comprise Psalm 51.This psalm, known as the penitents psalm beautifully demonstrates David’s own personal acceptance of his actions after being confronted by Nathan the prophet after David’s wicked and adulterous affair with Bathsheba. One of the biggest problems we have in churches all across America today is that we don’t see sin as it really is, a digression of the law. We far too often label it is a mistake or it as a problem, not a complete rebellion against God. Is the remorse we feel because we have dishonored a thrice Holy and almighty God, or simply because we got caught and now feel guilty?

2) Reclaim Surrendered Ground.

Ephesians 4:27 Neither give place to the devil. The word used in the greek text for place is Topos…it is where we get the root of the word topography or ground. What in your life have you given over to the enemy? Media, movies, music, personal alone time with God, personal standards and convictions, and family devotions are just a few places where we as believers tend to ignore the slight workings of the enemy. Soon however he uses whatever we have given to form an all out attack. To reclaim surrendered ground, simply refuse to allow satan access to whatever it is you have given him. Go to God in prayer, confess it, repent from it, put on the armor of God and begin walking in victory and stop living in defeat.

3) c

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

A stronghold is usually a false belief system built upon the foundation of something that happened in our past. These strongholds are used by the enemy to launch an attack against us, and they are also a barrier which keeps the Lord from having complete access to our life.

A strong hold is a place in your life that the devil uses to attack you from. Many times this walled city can be traced to an event where we were harmed or wronged by an individual we trusted. The key thought or principle to remember when tearing down strongholds is that if God can forgive them, so must we.

4) Build your life upon the Word of God

It sounds simple enough but many believers simply do not live by the book. John 8:32- Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. The Bible is Gods precious and holy word, it is His God breathed book. The same quickening spirit God breathed into Adam, He used to breathe out His Word. As a believer we ought not to simply read God’s Word, but rely upon it to change and mold our lives into the image of what He would have us to be. Below I have listed a few verses of scripture you may want to memorize.

Romans 12:1-2

Psalm 119:9-16

Hebrews 4:12

2 Timothy4:13

Joshua 1:8

5) Take every thought Captive

The Christian thought life is to be centered around the things of God. Philippians 4:8 Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if the were be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

To saturate your life with things of God, you must saturate your mind with the things of Christ. I created a little acrostic below to help you remember just how important your thought life is.

TFAR

T- Thoughts always lead to feelings

F - Feelings always lead to actions

A - Actions always lead to results.

R - Results: If you want better results in the Christian life, saturate your thought life with the things of God!!!
